Open House: Proposed National Marine Conservation Area Reserve in the Southern Strait of Georgia

Sunday October 15th, 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Ramada Duncan
140 Trans-Canada Hwy
Duncan, BC, British Columbia V9L3P7

You are invited to a very exciting open house. The Governments of Canada, British Columbia, and First Nations are assessing the feasibility of a national marine conservation area reserve in the southern Strait of Georgia.

A national marine conservation area reserve would help to conserve this vital marine ecosystem while allowing human uses to continue in an ecologically sustainable manner. However, the Strait of Georgia is one of the busiest waterways on the Pacific Coast of North America with multiple overlapping jurisdictions so the process of creating a national marine conservation area reserve is not straightforward.
